Site Work Progresses on Aviation Center for Excellence – NC Global TransPark

Construction progress is well underway at the future Lenoir Community College Aviation Center for Excellence (ACE) facility, with Clancy and Theys Construction Company leading the efforts on-site.

Significant progress has been made in relocating essential utilities, including water, fiber optic cables, and electrical lines, to prepare the site for construction. Additionally, any utilities that were deemed unnecessary have been carefully removed. As a crucial milestone, permanent power has been established on the site, which is now ready to support the next construction phases. Currently, preliminary site work has reached approximately 50% completion, and we anticipate that more extensive site construction will commence in the coming weeks.

This new learning facility is designed to enhance our region’s dedication to the aerospace industry, manufacturing, and support operations for the Department of Defense. It has been meticulously designed to address the immediate and long-term needs of the aviation and aerospace workforce not only in our local area but also throughout Eastern North Carolina. Our goal is to equip the next generation of aviation professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an evolving industry, ensuring a bright future for both the graduates and the regional economy.
