WCDA Holds Successful 2023 Business and Industry Appreciation Golf Tournament – Wayne County

GOLDSBORO, NC – Yesterday, Wayne County Development Alliance hosted its 2023 Business and Industry Appreciation Golf Tournament, an event that proved to be a great success. The tournament brought together industry managers, business owners, and local government leaders to engage in friendly competition networking. The main focus of the event was to show appreciation for the existing industries of Wayne County.

The event was a perfect opportunity for attendees to showcase their skills on the golf course and build relationships among coworkers and industry representatives. Wayne County Development Alliance also took the opportunity to appreciate the positive impact these industries have on the local and regional economy and workforce.

“We are pleased with the turnout and the success of this year’s tournament,” said Julie Graham, Wayne County Existing Industry Director of Wayne County Development Alliance. “It is always great to see industry leaders and local officials come together to celebrate the success of our existing industries and the economic impact they have on Wayne County.”

Winners of the Golf Tournament are:  

• 1ST PLACE – City of Goldsboro Team – Octavius Murphy, Ray Fields, Logan Hayes, Obie Ogbasi 

• 2ND PLACE – Piedmont Natural Gas Team – Mike Weston, Chuck Frazer, Trey Johnson, David Bowden 

• 3RD PLACE – Jackson Builders Team – Kent Warren, John Wooten, Neal Benton, Don Barnes 

Contest winners:  

• CLOSEST TO THE PIN: Dave Devour with the Michael Aram Team 

• LONGEST PUT: David Patterson with the Mt. Olive Pickle Company Team
