Journey 360 CTE Pilot Program and Tours Show Teens Career Options
Today’s Journey 360 event, organized by Greene County Schools, Lenoir County Schools, Jones County Schools, Lenoir Community College, Jones County Economic Development, and NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region, was a resounding success in assisting high school students who are soon to graduate and enter the job market.
Masterbrand Cabinets, the City of Kinston Public Service Complex, and Eaton Corporation provided select students from Greene, Lenoir, and Jones County High Schools with an invaluable opportunity to explore local, well-paying jobs that offer excellent benefits and support work-related training. These students, who have chosen not to pursue postsecondary education, were introduced to a variety of exciting career paths, including operating a backhoe, repairing water lines, servicing electrical poles, and working on production lines—jobs that are not only great but also vital to our communities.
Following the tours and demonstrations, the students convened at Lenoir Community College for their annual job fair, further expanding their horizons and opportunities. The day concluded with a pizza party for the students, where they learned about short-term training opportunities available at Lenoir Community College.
A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to Masterbrand Cabinets, the City of Kinston Public Service Complex, and Eaton Corporation for showcasing these valuable career options. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to Greene, Lenoir, Jones County Public Schools, and Jones County Economic Development for their pivotal role in making this educational event possible for their students.
