Greene County Receives Site Development Grant Through Golden Leaf Foundation
Greene County Secures $165,000 Funding to Identify Industrial Land from the Golden LEAF Foundation
Representative Humphrey visited the Greene County offices to present a $150,000 check from the North Carolina General Assembly. The funding, comprising a $150,000 appropriation from the North Carolina General Assembly and a $15,000 grant awarded by the Golden LEAF Foundation through their SITE program, was announced by Golden LEAF on December 7.
The funding will be used for a third-party firm contracted by Golden LEAF to help identify potential industrial sites in Greene County. The allocated funds will be strategically utilized to identify possible locations for new industrial development and due diligence on these possible locations.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to Representative Humphrey, Senator Newton, the North Carolina General Assembly, and the Golden LEAF Foundation for their support. With their backing, we’ve secured funding to initiate the first phase of our plan to ensure sustainable future growth, focusing on creating well-paying jobs in Greene County.” – Trey Cash, Greene County Economic Development Director.
