West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. Expansion Announcement

Great economic news, West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., a global leader in innovative, high-quality injectable solutions and services, will receive a grant from the state’s Building Reuse Program. Earlier today, the NC Rural Infrastructure Authority approved Lenoir County’s request for $500,000 in funds to support the building reuse of West’s Kinston, NC manufacturing facility.

West is expanding current operations at their Kinston site, which is an investment to meet the growing demand in the healthcare market, including the increased demand driven by the COVID-19 pandemic. The project brings a capital investment of more than $50 million over the next couple of years to Lenoir County and is expected to create more than 90 additional jobs at that site.

“We continue to be enthusiastic with the increasing footprint of West Pharmaceutical Services.  Their investment and corporate partnership in our community play a vital role in the growth of Lenoir County and Eastern North Carolina,” said Senator Jim Perry.

Partnering with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the EDPNC on this project were the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, Lenoir County, the North Carolina Global TransPark Economic Development Region, and Lenoir Community College.
