EDR Region Forklift Rodeo 2023
The 2023 NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region Forklift Rodeo, held on Thursday, October 5th, brought in forklift drivers from industries throughout the region (Greene, Lenoir, and Wayne Counties) to Wayne Community College to compete for the bragging rights of the best forklift driver in the region.
The competition was tough. Each county had a bracket with participating drivers representing industries within that county. Winners from each county bracket then competed in a 3-team double-elimination championship to decide the grand champion forklift driver in the region! The course was a challenging mix of speed, safety, and skill. Drivers compete for the best time, with penalties deducted for hitting cones or bouncing water balloons off the top of a transported trash can! Not to mention points deducted for spilling water from a 5-gallon bucket while navigating a slalom course!

• Wayne County Overall Winner – Anthony Flow – Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc.
• Lenoir County Overall Winner – Isisha Cannon – Covation Biomaterials
• Regional Grand Champion – Anthony Flow – Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc.
Congratulations to the NC Global TransPark Economic Development Region Forklift Rodeo winners! The skill of all the drivers was exceptional, and the cheering coworkers showed the commitment of the EDR region’s workforce. A big thank you to all the industries who participated in this event!
